ABC'S VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR CONTEST

October 2009: President of Reaching Out Inc., Marcia Merrick, was anonymously nominated for the ABC Network's "Volunteer of the Year" award. After 6 days of voting online, One could see the love and admiration that Marcia's friends, family, church, and many others have for her. The emails were forwarded on and on, encouraging others to vote for Marcia so that Reaching Out could be celebrated and supported.

Marcia received third place out of 2,000 people in the contest. She received over 50,000 votes. The emails of those that know Marcia speak the simple truth about how much she does and how many people's lives are improved through Reaching Out Inc.

KINDEST KANSAS CITIZEN CONTEST

Marcia Merrick was nominated in 2008 & 2009 as Kansas City's "Kindest Kansas
Citian." She was referred by students in the metro area whom were asked to nominate someone who "touched their life or influenced them through service."
